Bridal Shower Favors You Can Make
There might be some of you who are on a budget so the bridal shower you are planning must necessarily be one where you can’t really go overboard where spending is concerned. You could then, think of making your own bridal shower favors. Of course, even if you can afford to buy them, you might still prefer making them yourself as these souvenirs or mementos are to say thank you to them for coming and it is to commemorate your great day.
You could have favors that are made up of chocolate or fudge or any type of candy. If you have a theme for the bridal shower, you could go a step further and get moulds that go with the theme and make the sweets in that shape. Or maybe you could have a traditional family recipe made up and packed in special boxes with a printed copy or maybe even a handwritten copy of the recipe tucked inside. You could even have cakes or little jars of jam.
Candles are another great bridal shower favor gift idea. You can make the candles in different shapes and you could even add essential oils when you melt the wax so you get aromatherapy candles. You could experiment with perfumes and colors so you get various kinds of candles. If you want candle making kits, you can pick them up at the local store or better still, you can shop for it online. Most of them have instruction leaflets enclosed so you know just what to do. Having different colored candles and different smelling ones will probably make for a great conversation topic at the bridal shower.
You could also make some bookmarks to commemorate the event. You can make them out of good paper and then stencil on a poem maybe on it. Sticking clear sticky tape on both sides will give it a laminated effect. Paper fans with love poems written inside are also a great idea. Or you can personalize a CD and burn a copy for each of the guests. It can be a CD of your special songs with a little note attached saying why each song is special. The CD cover can be personalized as well.
Flowers or what you can do with them also make great bridal shower favors. You can take white bags and arrange petals and leaves in a decorative pattern over them and put newspaper over that. Then put a weight on it. You need to let it stay that way for a week and then take off both the weight and the newspaper. You’ll find what wonderful designs have been left behind. Of course, if you aren’t that patient or don’t have that kind of time, you can put cardboard instead of newspaper and hammer it hard. Just make sure that you do not move the cardboard around. This, too, gives you a good design on the bag. Inside the bag, you can put in some flower bulbs and give it to the guests. With the flower petals that are left over, you can seal them between two pieces of sticky tape and you have readymade stickers you can use.
